Pirating a Winter Wonderland
Being "a bit on the bilgy side" (sorry, Maroon), we chose to celebrate Christmas 2007 with a fine piratey panache. Beer, booze, and other assorted beverages were present in ridiculous quantities, spilling out of the refrigerators (not that they needed the cooling) and onto the Christmas tree. Mummum and Todd, having emptied two bottles of Riesling, commenced to form the Riesling Concerto. As it turns out, Riesling bottles are fully chromatic. They were joined by various other members of the Clan, performing on IBC root beer bottles (not fully chromatic). Suffice it to say that food was also available in ridiculous quantities, including no less than three excellent desserts, and the fun and frivolity continued late into the evening. Gifts were given; gifts were received; gifts were snuggled into and properly displayed.

The feasting continued with New Years', when half the world showed up to help us eat 50-odd pounds of pig. Which was good. (The pig, and the people showing up to eat it.) The Visqueen Palace was hastily reconstructed in the face of an oncoming cold front, and secure in its semi-transparent smoke-retaining embrace, Rob led us all in an impromptu bellowing session. New Years' toasts were given in the infamous Spidey Cups, and then those who could still stagger staggered home to bed and recovery.
